Worship and Media Pastor (Full-Time)

Job Summary
God has called Alpha Baptist Church to be a church that
passionately makes and molds disciples to the glory of God as we fulfill the
Great Commission of Matthew 28:19-20. As a part of fulfilling our church’s mission,
God has called us to have a thriving, Spirit-filled Worship and Media Ministry
that glorifies God and proclaims His Word through music and media.
As a part of fulfilling God’s call for our Worship and Media
Ministry, He has led our church to pursue the following goals:
- Develop choirs (adult and
Children), praise team, orchestra, and small vocal/instrumental ensembles
that are growing numerically and musically for God’s glory.
- Develop a growing culture
of authentic worship in our church family that enables our people to love
Jesus so much that it moves us to follow God through ministry and
discipleship in an ever-greater way.
- Develop the vision and values of our church through compelling
and creative graphic and video content to effectively produce digital,
web, print, and social media promotional materials using multiple
platforms.
Personal Requirements
- A growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Only
someone serving the Lord through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
can lead us in worshiping God with all their heart, soul, mind, and
strength. Our ministerial staff must demonstrate integrity, moral purity,
and holiness in their walk with Christ. Candidate must adhere to the
BF&M 2000. They must lead their
ministries as an outgrowth of their personal walk with Christ.
- A member and strong supporter of Alpha Baptist Church. We
believe that only someone who is a member of our church family and fully
immersed in the life of our church can provide the type of leadership and
commitment that is necessary as a leader in our worship and Media
ministry. Our ministerial staff is expected to support our church’s
ministries faithfully through tithing and giving to missions.
- A demonstrated
music and media knowledge. Our Minister of
Worship and Media must demonstrate a heart that desires to grow and improve,
and that challenges our worship and Media ministry in a loving, positive way.
Job Requirements
- Must be a theologian whose
understanding of God’s Word shapes and guides his decisions and his
selection of music.
- The Worship Pastor must be capable of leading a multi-generational congregation in worship through various styles of music, ranging from the classic hymns of the faith to current worship music.
- Oversee the development
and growth of our Celebration Choir and Orchestra.
- Oversee the development
and growth of our Preschool, Children’s, and Youth worship ministries.
- Oversee the development
and growth of our small vocal and instrumental ensembles.
- Oversee the development of
our Media and Communications Ministries.
- Oversee the organization
of our Music Library.
- Preview all music to be
sung or played by individuals or groups for worship services.
- Work with the music ministry
leadership in the area of enlisting, training, and supervising the work of
volunteers in the church music ministry.
- See that all church owned
instruments are accounted for and properly maintained.
- Prepare annual budget
requests for music and media needs and oversee all music and media expenditures
within the approved budget.
- Produce, supervise, and
promote all church media ministry including, but not limited to: website,
graphics, social media, video production, and promotion.
- They must be innovative, enthusiastic, and must work well in a team staff environment.
- Proficiency in leading with an instrument when appropriate is a plus.
- Proficiency with ProPresenter (or like software) and other media is required.
General Staff Responsibilities
- Shall
serve in harmony with the total ministry staff;
- Shall
shepherd and care for the families within the music and media ministry.
- Shall
participate in regular staff meetings and other meetings scheduled by the Lead
Pastor
- Shall
work in cooperation with the leaders of all church programs, sensing
responsibility to the overall health of the total church life;
- Shall
Maintain regular office hours as scheduled;
- Shall
schedule vacation, personal days, and time away in cooperation with the Lead
Pastor and other staff;
- Shall
handle pastoral and administration responsibilities when necessary or as
directed by the Lead Pastor;
- Serve
on Church Council.
- Shall
oversee the Communications committee.

Education
Accredited degree in
music preferred.
